Myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) is a chronic pain condition characterized by:

Causes and risk factors:

Symptoms:

5. Fatigue
6. Sleep disturbances

Diagnosis:

1. Medical history
2. Physical examination (palpation, range of motion, strength testing)
3. Trigger point injections (diagnostic and therapeutic)
4. Imaging studies (e.g., MRI, X-rays) to rule out other conditions

Treatment:

1. Trigger point therapy (injections, manual release)
2. Physical therapy (stretching, strengthening, modalities)
3. Pain management (medications, nerve blocks)
4. Lifestyle modifications (posture correction, stress reduction, exercise)
5. Alternative therapies (acupuncture, massage, dry needling)
