Adductor Muscle Strain

Adductor Muscle Strain:

An injury to the adductor muscles in the thigh, causing pain, swelling, and limited mobility.

Causes:

1. Sudden contraction or stretching
2. Overuse or repetitive strain
3. Poor warm-up or cool-down
4. Weak or imbalanced muscles
5. Direct blows to the thigh

Symptoms:

1. Pain in the inner thigh
2. Swelling and bruising
3. Limited mobility or stiffness
4. Weakness or cramping
5. Snapping or popping sensation

Grades:

1. Mild (Grade 1): minor strain
2. Moderate (Grade 2): partial tear
3. Severe (Grade 3): complete tear

Treatment:

1. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation (RICE)
2. Pain management with medication
3. Physical therapy and rehabilitation
4. Stretching and strengthening exercises
5. Gradual return to activity

Recovery:

1. Mild: 1-2 weeks
2. Moderate: 2-4 weeks
3. Severe: 6-12 weeks
