Congenital cervical stenosi

Congenital cervical stenosis is a rare condition where the cervical spine (neck) is narrower than usual, present at birth. This narrowing can put pressure on the spinal cord and nerves, potentially causing neurological problems.

Causes:

2. Abnormal fetal development

Symptoms:

1. Neck pain or stiffness
2. Weakness or numbness in arms or legs
3. Difficulty walking or maintaining balance
4. Loss of bladder or bowel control
5. Muscle spasms

Treatment:

1. Monitoring with regular check-ups
2. Physical therapy to maintain flexibility
3. Surgery to widen the spinal canal (if necessary)
4. Management of related conditions (e.g., scoliosis)

Complications:

1. Spinal cord injury
2. Chronic pain
3. Limited mobility
4. Respiratory problems
5. Increased risk of spinal cord damage during activities
